Workshop Registration


Registration is taken on a "first come, first served" basis.  Class size is limited.  Employees registering for the entire Supervisor Development Program (SDP) will be given preference over those registering for a single class.

If you do not wish to register online, contact the Human Resources Department, at 740-4532, to register and provide the same information requested below.

Check here to sign up for the ENTIRE training program (fall and spring).  Certificates will only be issued for those completing any 15 of the 18 training courses being offered.  If you wish to sign up for specific courses, please do so below.  Certificates will NOT be issued for individual course completion.

  Health and Safety - this informative workshop examines a variety of health and safety related issues along with the measures that can be taken to prevent workplace illness and injury.  Tuesday, September 4, 2012                   
                
  Microsoft Word - participants will come away with a better understanding of Microsoft Word's functionality and learn the best ways to utilize the program.  Thursday, September 13, 2012                             

 Microsoft Excel - here is an opportunity to increase your knowledge of Microsoft Excel and learn how to become more efficient in its use.  Tuesday, September 25, 2012   BONUS CLASS - Wizard of Oz "Theory of Management" practices (lunch will be provided) - Noon until 1:00 p.m. 
                  
  Request to Fill a Position - this session is designed to help attendees better understand the process of requesting to fill a vacant faculty, staff and student worker position.  Thursday, October 4, 2012       
                        
  Leave Administration - participants will learn about the leave options available to TAMUG employees and how the FMLA fits in.  Tuesday, October 16, 2012
                                              
 Workers Compensation - become more familiar with the processes and procedures that come into play in the event an employee suffers an injury or illness as a result of and in the course and scope of employment.  Thursday, October 25, 2012    

 Search and Selection Process - this will be a discussion on how to conduct an effective job search and select the best candidate for your position.  Tuesday, November 6, 2012    

  Community of Respect - this nationally recognized diversity program is designed to help employees become aware of cultural differences and know how to handle them with positive outcomes.  Thursday, November 15, 2012 
                             
 Performance Measurement this session is designed to help attendees better understand the performance management process and the role of progressive discipline.  Tuesday, November 27, 2012
